Where is everybody??

Postby Feetfirst » Sun Jun 18, 2017 4:29 pm

Hey guys it's been a bit boring lately, what's everyone up to? Juddy and Mach6 - we need project updates (maybe knee updates Mach6). Honour - did you get your engine upgrade?? I know it's winter but there must be somebody out there doing something to keep the pages alive.........................

Not for a ski, there's big banana prawns in the river so have been out in the tinny getting amongst them. Other than that it has just been work, kids, work.......What about you, she'd be getting pretty cool in the Mary I'm guessing???

I had family visit over the weekend, and they were super keen to wakeboard & tube, so we got out for a set or 2 :) Water is still fine, although I wear a 1mm top because I'm a wimp. Water was 21 degrees! :D
Enjoy the ride. Any time on the water is good time!

That would be nice! I got out for a wakesurf a couple of weeks ago at Big Bend in SA. The water was 13.9deg; on its way down to minimum of about 11.
Only my third run since the knee reco last September so would be happy to go in Antarctica at the moment!

Called it for the season waters down to 14 degrees and the air is about 15 during the peak of the day...

Busy smashing out kms on the mountain bike to get my knee sorted for some snow turns, then will get back on a board in October.

Not too bad thanks will. Still lacking some endurance on the wakesurf but can pump again. Hoping to have enough strength in it to get back on the wakeboard/ski in early summer.

I like the engine pic!!!

I had the boat out 3 weekends ago for a wakeboard/wakesurf and then went for a quick ski behind the uni club boat on Sunday.

I may take the boat out again this coming weekend as some family are visiting. From then the boat will probably get a rest until our mid winter boys weekend.

PJDave and I and some other mates just did a welding course at TAFE. I've always wanted to learn how to weld so it was great fun. My winter project is to build a fresh air exhaust / Surf Pipe for our boat.

I need to get some SS pipe, have some flanges cut as well as doing some more welding practice as I am still a beginner. If I get it done by Sept I will be happy.

Great skill to learn! Was it just a unit, or did you get a cert out of it? Always wanted to learn...

Well I got out more times in the school holidays than I did over summer! Got to Bli Bli twice and the boat out 5 or 6 times. Scored great weather for the boat - the water is 21 degrees and air is 25-26.
Enjoy the ride. Any time on the water is good time!

We got a Cert 4 out of it. Or more correctly 3 Cert 4's I think. Not that I really care much about the certificate.

They are looking at doing a general fabrication course and the welding course would be a pre-requisite for that.

General fabrication would also be super handy to learn. Obviously you can teach yourself, but a course is a much faster way to get the basics.

There's progress, but still more to do. The reason - more power... and easier cold starts with EFI not carby, and more power. Did I mention more power 8)
