There was us, 1 other ski boat and a couple of fisho's. We pretty much had the lake to ourselves.

The weather was looking a little average driving down there but it cleared up really nice after lunch.

Total build as it stands atm is about 36k with rego, insurance etc.

I'm keeping an eye on the weather forecast for this weekend & it's looking good for another session. We might end up having to share the lake with a couple of other peeps though :)

The water has got to be fairly smooth if you want to have someone knitting a jumper in the back of the boat :roll:

Oh yeah, she can knit anywhere. Was a real problem gettin the boards & skis off the swing in racks. Didn't want to get the wool wet. :D :D . It was a beanie she was knitting, had it finished by the end of the day. I'm gonna ask for a black and green one. Match my pink & blue wet suit Ha ha. :lol:

We had a bit of time up our sleeves on the weekend so we did a couple of outstanding jobs including:

pissed off the old water strainers and chucked in a couple of heavy duty ones that don't spew water when pressurised by the ram scoops;

bought a couple of fat sacs and plumbed in some valves and hose to allow remote filling of the sacs utilising the fwd tank pump; and

glued down some Hydroturf to the boarding platform.

The Hydroturf turned out looking pretty good and we are also looking at covering the bow, transom and some of the gunwale with it too.

We got it from Australian Jetski, took ages to find some decent stuff as everything else on the market seemed to be way too expensive or was very soft and didn't look like it would wear very well.

It was $16.50 postage for 3 sheets to Bris.

I was a little disappointed with the consistency of the Hydroturf, as the diamond pattern was about 10mm off in the centre compared to the edge along the longest edge. It must have been stretched as it was put through the machine that scuffs the surface to make it non-slip. If you look at a full sheet along the pattern you can see the warp, but we ended up just cutting strait across the uneven pattern and you can't even spot it after it is glued down. It was the same with all 3 sheets that we bought.

I hope you guys have some experience with Quick Grip or laminate as you only get 1 shot at getting it down strait, and it is defiantly a 2 person job, even for the small bits!
