'03 v '06 wakesetter

Postby Alastair » Wed Oct 18, 2017 2:55 pm

Hey guys,

Looking at buying my first wake dedicated boat and currently have my eyes on 2 wakesetters, one is a 2003 model and one is a 2006.

there is about a 10k price difference between the two ( off the bat without haggling on either).

just want to know if anyone has ridden between both models and see if there was much difference in the wake? or any notable changes that make it worth while.

both boats with factory tanks and a wedge.
no perfect pass on the 03

I'm not a Wakesetter guru but from memory 2005 is when the hull shape changed and the wake got significantly better.

The older ones were far from amazing even when loaded. After the hull change they were much better.

Someone else will chime in with more detail regarding Diamond Hull Vs some other name hull etc.

Thanks for the heads up mate,

I definitely toyed with the idea of buying the XTI! but with the new kid we were still figuring out our finances and have only just come to the conclusion that a boat is within our means.

Sounds like the 06 is a winner, i figured the resale would be better on the 06 having the integrated speed control etc.. but the hull info was what i wanted to know!
