BoatMate Trailer from US

Hi All,

I wanted to see if anyone had any experience on this. I've been living in the US for last 7 years and going to move back to Brissy next June. My intention is to bring back my Moomba Mojo 2.5 (and a Ram 1500 to tow it). The issue is the Boatmate trailer. It's under 2.5m wide (2.48) but it has issues:
- Needs Electric Brakes added
- Needs Indicators added
- Needs the hitch changed to 50mm
- Is not galvanized :(

I think the last one is going to be a killer for me. While we will be using this on the lakes 90% of the time, I still would like the option of dropping it in smooth water. So I could pay $ for all the changes and not be able to dunk in salt (and it will not be "stamped" as ADR compliant), or I pay $$$ for a whole new trailer which is ADR compliant.

I'm keen to hear what others have done in this situation. Do you get the changes done on the US side, or in Aus?

Appreciate any sage wisdom on this one.

How do you want to transport it?

If you leave it on the trailer you can ship it roll on roll off.
If you leave the trailer in the US you'll need some sort of cradle.
A new trailer will be 9k plus.

Personally, I would ship it on the trailer. When it arrives here tilt tray it home.
The mods and rego are easy. When the trailer eventually rusts out in 10 years from being used in salt, upgrade your trailer then.
