There are some seriously cool boats in this thread. Here is what I have to add.

These are boats that the Uni of QLD Ski club owned back in the day. Some pretty cool fashions back then too :)

JB is that you in the passenger seat in the XB?!
That is the best set up ever! Waterskiing at it's purest.

Nowadays it's all these spoilt kids with range rovers and Wakesetters!

Nah that is one of my sisters in the XB.

We were saying that a while ago in that back in the day people had dodgy old boats but they used them flat out every weekend.

Now boats are much flasher but they tend to be one of many toys people have so they don't get used quite as much.

JB - I know someone who has an identical blue Performance Craft still in use. I doubt it but it may be that old one! It's in NSW

Love the pics of those clinkers JBWAKE! Love the purple skicraft deluxe the most. I saw one identical for sale in victoria a few years ago (pretty sure the owner was a member of the site). For it being a reasonably new boat back then, the transom and gelgoat looked in trouble! how's the rust stains coming out out!

There's got to be lots of these things sitting in barns somewhere that could do with a loving home

Jasper I can almost forgive you selling the S&S if it was to make room for that Everingham.

More pics from back in the day. This is my Dad's mate Owen and his boats.

His first boat (the original Rebel) was apparently of of those old school boats where the driver sat down the back behind the motor. Pity I dont have a pic of that one.

I like how much he looks Maxwell Smart in some of them :D

Those butter boxes are sweet JB. When I'm old and can't waterski anymore, I wanna buy an old 60's Seacraft and putt around in it. I love em

This is the boat we keep for wakeskating and the like.
My Grandad bought it new in the 70's and been handed down the family since!
All original paint and stuff, and has outlasted 4 motors 8)

Sure chews alot less fuel than the 'setter too

Thanks for those pics JBWake. I sold my 1983 Performance Craft BOSS, same as pictured, 2 years ago. Its interesting to know UQ used them back in the day. They were manufactured in the suburb of Kedron, Brisbane. Mine was a special editon "one off" and featured at the 1983 Brisbane Boat show.

The boat runs a 313 Chrysler Poly - Motor is out & going for a rebuild - seats & trim is original & The hull needs a good sand & about 50 coats of clear... - Jasper, If you want the running boards for Skidaddles trailer - let me know - I used to own the boat... Tidies the trailer up & gives you somewhere to walk...

Love the wings! Looks like a beautiful boat! I thought with you coming from Mudgee there was a fair chance you may have owned or known of the boat as its only recently gone to Narrabri........ PM me for some history if you can. Id like to fill in some blanks.

I was going to run some stained decking on the trailer but there's a little bit of tidying to do on the boat first.

I've got a few people who would be VERY interested to see your boat if it ever comes this way. Skidaddle has become a bit of a talking point among the old salts around where I live. We're having a bit of a meet this weekend that I'm hoping to get to with a Goldsbrough, another early Everingham and a Rivercraft.

If you ever need bits for your chrysler Ray Hampson makes all that. His workmanship is amazing

Yep that is my father Harold in the Panther. My name is John, Charlie has known me since I was born. He would also know Owen Royle the owner of the Hustler boats as they all spent a lot of time together around that era. Actually Charlie knew everybody, or at least everybody knew him :)

I have a few more old pics that he will get a kick out of that I will put up shortly.
