Couta is actually not far off the truth.
I know people with a lease there and I have heard stories of spending a whole day there in peak season and only getting a ride or two in due to numbers, and thats after his mum forfeited her ride for him.

I have a lease at Bonneys, and like dudster said, it can get damn crowded on Summer weekends. It is not that uncommon to have 5 or 6 boats rock up all to use the same lake. Each boat is entitled to a 15 minute run and then you go to the back of the que and wait until your next turn comes around....If each boat has 3 or 4 riders, they may all only get 1 ride each for the day.
Sun, surf, sand and freedom, that's what living in Australia is all about.

On the topic of a cable ski park, I was watching the golf yesterday and I heard Greg Norman talking about his son who is a wake boarder/ kite surfer and he said that his son was interested in starting up several water ski parks around the world including Australia.
It would be a good idea for the group proposing the cable ski park in Baldivis to speak to him as getting him on board even to promote it would be a bonus.

We were their earlier that day and the day before and we saw all the boats described in the article, we also heard about the boat “race” that was being organised for 7pm new year’s eve. I was a bit nervous on the Sunday driving my boat as there were boats without observers, skiers/tubers without vests on, skiers not using signals when in the water and about 95% of boats doing power turns (surprise surprise). The gold boat was cutting laps and at one point came very close to one of our riders. These acts don’t do any favours in keeping the limited spots we have available to us open.

Was thinking about heading up for the night after work tomorrow, try and get a late run in and then an early one Saturday. Are you guys heading over? There were about 4 or 5 boats out and crews camping yesterday arvo, including a sail boat of all things :?

Hey Perth shredders,

I've recently moved to Margaret River and with there being no cable parks I have a unhappy wakeboard collecting dust in my bedroom!!

I'm here until May, so would be awesome if anyone was out for a shred around this area or Perth and had a spare spot or needed a extra person!

If you are or could point me in the right direction of finding a ride give me a text on 0424836249

Cheers,
Laurence

I was a bit concerned about the tree stumps and benches down there at first, but they have opened only the front section of the dam up to about half way along the caravan park or just past the boat ramp.
There was a 3D survey map conducted of the dam as part of the proposal to re-open it which shows the contours and submerged objects.
The ski area is quite small considering how big the dam is, you would not want to many boats on it at one time.
Out of the ski area there is quite a few submerged tree stumps though along the shoreline.
