Hey guys,
Have many of you rode stockton lake, I've heard its deep, but acidic, is it ok for your boat?

I've been there a few times, its really deep( 300metres or something like that)..

I wouldn't say its that acidic, you don't really taste any nasty in the water, a good clean and flush of the engine will be fine when you get home..

Problem with that lake is the walls are sheer cliffs on most sides so when you get too many boats the wakes all rebound off the edges and it turns into a washing machine.

Plenty of camping areas though and the ramp is fairly good to use

Thanks coody,
i went to waroona the other week, basically had to almost put the whole car in the water to launch to boat. And my novice driver went side on to close to the bank and dinged my prop  . So something with a ramp would be nice.

When did they extend the Belmont ski area upstream to the Maylands boat ramp?
There were more wakeboarding boats in that area then the designated ski area, or were they boarding outside the area?
Might explain the police boat passing us at full tilt in front of East Perth heading upstream towards it.

Yeah, they were definately riding outside of the area.
We got a warning a couple of fridays ago for riding outside of the area which was pretty nice of the water police as they definately could of fined us.
To be honest I can't see any reason why that part of the river doesn't get openned up for skiing. I think it would make the whole area safer as there wouldn't be 40 boats fighting for 40 metres flat water and its not like anyone else really uses that part of the river either.

I agree, it should be extended upstream.

Noticed a snippet in the weekend paper mentioning that Wellington dam was being looked at with a view to allowing skiing there. Anyone heard any more about this?
