Crab Pots at DWP

Postby nacnud » Sun Feb 07, 2016 10:10 pm

We were out at DWP today for the first time in a couple of months and the place was littered with crab pots. They were everywhere, as were the owners in their boats who either sat in the ski area or kept coming in to check on them. There are clear restrictions, no crabbing from 9am until sunset on weekends or public holidays. Does anyone know if this is even policed?

We drifted slightly today while swapping riders and very nearly had one caught round the prop. It's bad enough out there dealing with the jetskis and fair weather boaties who don't know the rules but with these guys planting obstacles everywhere (and being obstacles themselves) the ski area is getting ridiculously dangerous. I don't remember it being this bad last year, anyone else have issues today?
