new trick or broken bones this summer? What your plan

Postby Alastair » Thu Nov 03, 2016 7:55 am

Thought it would be interesting to see whose setting goals for the summer and what they are.

Personally i'm going for the tantrum and hopefully, progress from there to getting a Bel Air in the books.

Nice! It depends on how much water time I get :) Would love to get boat raleys and a HS 5. Cable, would love a backmobe!
Enjoy the ride. Any time on the water is good time!

Must be the year for it, I am nursing a wife with a broken ankle ATM. Her binding was too tight and she had a awkward fall on the last day of our camping trip.

far out, that's rough. I always worry about loose bindings causing issues, not tight ones.

I guess the only positive out of that is that it was on the last day of the trip! I've never head of a binding being too tight. Did she fail to eject on a big crash?

Exactly, caught the lip and went over sideways and broke the side bit of the ankle joint off. She's got a couple of screws in it now. She's not beaten though and is looking forward to getting back out there again.

My leg started to hurt my solution was to keep riding, went to America snowboarding came back from America and went wakeboarding had a nasty landing on a tantrum and it let go suspect that were was a stress fracture in my leg but its only a guess.

Its been 8.5months now, and ive still got a long way to go only got the hardware out of my leg last week.

Ahh that makes sense. Tantrums seem to be the trick most people do damage on! Hope the recovery goes well!

Was fired up keen to lamd a couple more 180's and even start trying my tantrum when i busted by L ankle and R foot landing a floaty heelside grab in rough water at our R2 - buried the nose and feet tried to get out of bundings sideways - not bad breaks but moon boot ans hobbling for a few weeks yet.

Gunna have to live through the kids this season!

BOTH! Mate, that is extraordinarily unlucky. I guess the kids will be happy that you can drive the boat still... (you don't have a foot throttle control do you?)

Maybe we should change the name of this thread to What damage have you done this summer? :)

I'll second the name change Will.
I've done an ACL and permanent meniscus damage (playing basketball) over winter which has left me as designated Dickie for the summer.

Tell me about it mate! In the words of Rik Disneck when asked if his sand shoe blew before he ran into the vaulting horse,"no i just f___ed" up.

Getting heaps of sympathy too!

Yes we have smart drive so its just pressing buttons
