I remember back in the day dad used to talk about them, they were ski races based in skiing skill rather that speed or tricks.
Like there be a race here u'd have to get 2 people on one single ski or they'd give u a heap of random household items and ud have to ski on them.
Actually I was thinking a similar thing just the other day! We used to have a big race here in Maryborough. It eventually finished for some reason. Now you'd be hard pressed to get competitors because of the crocs!
Enjoy the ride. Any time on the water is good time!
I'll come. I think that's a fantastic idea. I'll supply a boat too.......... Are there any other potential starters out there?????
I reckon some kind of relay (with challenges)could be the go.
Ud have to do it in heats. Because there would be a lot of stop starting.
Be good to do next year with a bit more planning and advertising.
Get the word out.
Back in the day I used to do barefoot endurance relay marathons about 35km. we would have 5-8 boats start at the same time and everything went pretty well.
I've seen the barefoot drag races they're pretty crazy.
But them enduro races are hard case. Surely u get to swap with the navy and driver.
I've only ever got up on the bar.
After 5mins of that I was rooted. We tried deep water starting that last year the boat was going but broke 2 ropes n give up. This year tho we'll give the kneeboard start a go, that's if the boat ever gets going.
Just recently competed in a barefoot marathon on the Hunter river near newcastle, 38km 4 skiers per boat, all up think there was about 10 boats, Bloody hard work and meant to be happening again next year if anyone interested
