Fresh Water - Sydney

Postby timmc10 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 7:27 am

Hi everyone,

I am about to move to Sydeny from Mount Isa, QLD and trying to work out if I should keep my wakesetter. Hoping for a list of fresh water spots around the Sydney region that allow boarding? I will be about 30min south of the Nepean River at Penrith. Anyone know of other fresh water spots, or areas with minimal salt?

Put a heat exchanger in it and use it anywhere.

Got to be the hawkesbury all day long.
With your boat, just make sure to 'fog' the motor with Inox (not wd40). Also I flush mine with the 'saltaway' system http://www.salt-away.com.au/
I'm two years in and using boat on hawkesbury, Pittwater and Sydney Harbour (you can wakeboard in middle Harbour near Roseville boat ramp).

Not sure how much room I will have for a heat exchanger. Will look into it.

So the Windsor area is all fresh then? Any idea how far downstream it turns to salt?

The Hawkesbury is fresh a long way down river. Starts to get brackish between the Colo and Macdonald rivers

Hawkesbury is about the best spot you will find, Nepean is a little too small of an area once you have a few boats there
