Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. PLEASE HELP!!first thing i would be doing is pissing the sillicon off. go buy a blank sheet of gasket paper and whip up a new gasket... or alternatively buy one to suit.! might not be your problem now, but it will deff be an issue in the future.

Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. MAYBE EFI REPOWER???Nah,
Finally found some time yesterday to do a compression test on the engine, not brilliant. A few pots on 120 psi a few around 105psi and then 2 as low as 75 psi. Dont know if this is the whole issue but because it seemed to just start playing up all of a sudden one weekend and then got progressively worse. I havent yet tried removing the carb and then using some proper gaskets. Given the age of the current engine im not against an engine swap. However i would like to go injected, an engine out of an ef / el/ au falcon as my marinising gear will be a pretty much straight swap. Does anyone have any experience with ecu setup etc etc that will be needed if i do go down that line?
Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. PLEASE HELP!!
If you contact or PM Lewy on here, he is the guru with ford inboards and with efi
Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. PLEASE HELP!!Awesome,
Thanks mate will do
Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. PLEASE HELP!!Definitely time for a new motor or re-build with those compressions... Keep us posted if you go down the EFI re-power route, the biggest costs are wiring loom and ECU, fuel system and tuning. I know GM LS computers can be cheaply hacked and re-tuned by someone in the know. Ford is less common, but maybe lewy is your man.
Re: 302 windsor / holley carb issues. PLEASE HELP!!Wiring shouldnt be an issue as we have 3 autosparkys at work who are very good so that one is covered.
I imagine i will need to get a fuel sender unit like on cars with the return lines etc etc, so that means new tank too. A fair bit involved no doubt but something im very keen on, as far as im concerned a bit more work and a bit more money for something much better is a no brainer. Given that wifey and i have just bought a house id say new boat is off the cards for a long while so may as well get this one nice
